A piece of Reason 🤔💭
In my opinion, it’s high time the key dance personalities we have on ground now, whether solo or group, start devising ways to go into dance events organisation.
If you look at the comedy industry, it was nowhere some years ago. But these guys started organizing comedy events from left, right and centre. Society thought they’re joking but today they’ve amassed great fans all over the country and gotten big deals with companies and government agencies.
Each year, the dance concerts or events in Nigeria can be counted and they’re not up to 20. But the comedians organize more than 20 events in just a month. They don’t have two heads and two brains. I’m not saying we should compete with them. Far from it! But when someone is succeeding, learn from their success.
We should borrow a leaf from them. If year to year, dancers don’t do events, we can’t keep the people interest in dance, because there’s nothing to look forward to. And do you know you can make money 💵💵💵 in event organization if your strategies are built on a genuine idea?
You have a big name in the dance industry, you have fans, you have friends, you have families and extended family line. So there’s no way you won’t have some degree of audience in your event, even if it’s your first time.
We have to try new ways of doing this dance, otherwise the dance will die in our hands the same way it died in the hands of the dancers before us.
Lastly, WE MUST, I REPEAT, WE MUST SUPPORT EACH OTHER BECAUSE THE COMEDIANS SUPPORT EACH OTHER. WE MUST STOP BILLING A FELLOW DANCER. Take anything that’s in their slim budget they’ve prepared to offer you. Our main business should be with the outsiders, the corporate society, the public.
I come in peace!
